May 6 – Colour and Value with Ionne McCauley

Do you have trouble choosing fabric colours for projects? Create your own reference book as we work through exercises using fabrics. Using plain talk and simple lessons, this one-day class introduces you to the colour wheel as a quilter’s tool.

Learn about how colours work together and how value choices affect your quilting projects. Study different colour combinations and find out why they work. Discover the difference between value and intensity and why that is important. Make your quilts sing with your very own colour choices!

Hands-on with fabrics, no sewing machines!

Cost: $40.00 – Port Moody Legion Auditorium – 10 am – 4pm Lunch included

Jun 2 – Easy Piecing with Margaret Miller

A sewing workshop which yields a quilt top plus working plans for many more; based on Margaret’s popular book. Students work with two different versions of a rotary cut and quickly sewn block, creating blocks and mirror images of the blocks at the same time. Each block contains six values (light to dark), and is composed of only two shapes (triangles and wedges) which are easy to cut (no templates). Combinations and rotations of the blocks on the design wall yield hundreds of quilt possibilities.
