This year, we thought we’d get a jump on Christmas with Placemats for Meals on Wheels. We are asking that all of the placemats be approximately 14” X 18” in size and that they are two sided! One side can be Christmas patterned and the other can be another season’s fabric or vice versa. Each person is asked to make two or more. Any placemats not needed for Meals on Wheels will go to the Quilt Show Boutique planned for October 2022. The challenge is to get them done over the summer months and turn them in by the end of September. Drop off is at Carol Lifford’s office at 163 Schoolhouse St, Coquitlam (Near the Silvercity Movie Theatre on Schoolhouse). Thank you for participating in this worthy Summer Challenge!
The 2021/22 registration form is now posted on the website.
Threads of Hope is an exhibition exploring our hope, longing and desire for the future of the world. The art pieces flow from one to the other with a ‘thread of hope’ connecting them, thus completing a line of artists, joining forces to improve our world.
This is the exhibit of work done by my local SAQA group that will be displayed at the White Rock Public library for the month of February.
As quilt shows are not happening for a while, I thought that some of our members might want to venture out to White Rock to see some art work in person. Each piece is unique and techniques vary.
I can mention the show in my remarks at the Feb. meeting and we can add it to our FB page with your permission.
As a group, we have given permission for quilt guilds to show the work at virtual meetings so, if time permits and Debbie or Annette are able to queue it up, we could add it to program for the Feb meeting. It is a very short presentation.
Let me know what you think.
The Feb 2021 Preemie challenge will be an animal theme. We will ask you to post in feb your quilt at our zoom guild meeting then
Parking lot get togethers on Thursday are cancelled due to Dr. Bonnie Henry’s instructions Saturday.
With the instructions given it was an easy choice to not meet going forward. We will decide after the two weeks if we will do it again.
If you have any donation quilts to be handed in, please contact Dawna Robertson or Maureen Davies.
Happy Sewing Everyone.
